About Rafael

ABOUT RAFAEL

Rafael Guimarães is a Brazilian artist, entrepreneur and English teacher based in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

He is the son of appellate judge Moacir Danilo Rodrigues (in memoriam) and his mother, a journalist and lawyer (in memoriam), and the grandson of the renowned and pioneering watercolor artist Nathaniel Marques Guimarães (in memoriam).

Rafael is an orphan. The people who first taught him how to observe, listen, read and see are no longer here — but their voices, their ways of thinking and their sensitivity still live inside his work.

Raised within a family shaped by law, journalism and art, he grew up surrounded by different ways of interpreting and expressing the world. Art eventually became his own language.

Alongside his artistic practice, Rafael is an English teacher with a background in business, marketing and entrepreneurship. His life naturally moves between creativity, communication, education and human connection.

Rafael is happily in love and engaged to Sabrina Ferri.

Together, Rafael and Sabrina actively participate in projects and initiatives connected to social inclusion — not only through financial support, but through accessibility, education and the belief that art, culture, spaces and opportunities should be accessible to everyone.
